Banyan Group outlines new growth phase for 2026 after reaching 100-resort milestone

Banyan Group enters 2026 following a milestone year, outlining global expansion plans, new market entries, portfolio growth and deeper wellbeing-led experiences across hospitality, residences and sustainability initiatives.

 

SINGAPORE – Banyan Group enters 2026 following a landmark year that marked a major step in its global expansion. With 100 hotels and resorts, more than 140 spas and galleries, and over 20 branded residences operating across more than 20 countries, the Group is progressing into a new phase of growth focused on portfolio diversification, geographic expansion and deeper guest engagement.

“Crossing the 100-resort milestone marks a new chapter for Banyan Group as we build on our legacy by expanding into new and meaningful markets, strengthening our brands, and deepening our focus on wellbeing-led and regenerative travel,” said Eddy See, President and Chief Executive Officer of Banyan Group. “Guided by purpose-driven growth, design-led experiences, and responsible stewardship, we remain committed to creating long-term value for destinations, partners, and communities as we expand into new parts of Africa and the Caribbean.”

In Africa, the Group will enter safari hospitality with the opening of Ubuyu, a Banyan Tree Escape in Tanzania, marking its debut in East Africa. In West Africa, Dhawa Ouidah is scheduled to open in Benin, extending Banyan Group’s footprint into the region.

In the Caribbean, the Group will establish a presence in the Dominican Republic through the openings of Angsana Cap Cana and Cassia Punta Cana, introducing both resort and extended-stay accommodation formats to the market.

In Europe, Mamula Island by Banyan Tree will reopen for the 2026 season in Montenegro. The property will present the full Banyan Tree experience through updated design elements, refreshed dining concepts, signature rituals and integrated spa and wellbeing programming.

Across Asia and the Middle East, Banyan Group will continue advancing its multi-brand strategy. The Banyan Tree brand will expand in China with the opening of Banyan Tree Guangzhou Jiulong Lake and Banyan Tree Mount Emei, while the Angsana brand will grow with new properties in Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.

The Group will also strengthen its lifestyle and urban portfolio with new openings including Garrya Danang in Vietnam, Homm Mandaue Cebu in the Philippines, Homm Yibin Lizhuang in China, Homm Pondok Indah Jakarta and Homm Palembang in Indonesia, alongside the opening of Folio Bogor in Indonesia, the second Folio hotel globally.

In 2026, Banyan Group will further develop its wellbeing-led guest offerings across the Banyan Tree brand through Banyan Tree Connections, a private holistic wellbeing journey designed to foster deeper connections through movement, mindfulness and shared rituals in nature.

Following its initial rollout in China, the Maldives, Mexico and Thailand, the programme will expand to eight additional resorts from April 2026, including properties in China, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.

In 2025, Banyan Group marked the opening of its 100th resort, Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree in Singapore. The opening coincided with the inaugural Rainforest Festival, which attracted more than 4,000 visitors and raised over SGD 600,000 in support of charitable and social service organisations.

During the same year, the Group celebrated several anniversaries, including 10 years of the Cassia brand, 20 years of operations in China, and 30 years in both the Maldives and Indonesia.

Banyan Group continued to advance its stewardship agenda through long-term partnerships and internal initiatives, delivering more than 30 Greater Good Grants across biodiversity conservation, community wellbeing, education, cultural preservation, sustainable agriculture and circular economy projects.

The Group also expanded its branded residences portfolio in 2025 with eight new sales launches, including its first residential development in Europe in Madrid. Banyan Group additionally introduced the Bellaguna residential brand, designed for year-round living and professionally managed by the Group.

Currently ranked first in Asia by volume and fifth globally in branded residential development, Banyan Group expects to launch up to USD 1 billion in new luxury residential projects in Phuket over the next two to three years.

Banyan Gallery continued to grow its international footprint, partnering with 339 artisan communities and commissioning more than 400,000 products. The Group’s spa and wellness academy also received multiple distinctions in 2025 for educational excellence.

Design excellence and sustainability remained central to the Group’s recognition in 2025, with multiple awards across architecture, hospitality, sustainability and travel platforms acknowledging Banyan Group’s ongoing commitment to responsible growth and experience-led hospitality.
