Greg Cook, the General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, has been named the Chairman of the Board for the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association (FRLA), a pivotal role within Florida’s thriving hospitality industry. This announcement comes as the FRLA celebrates its 80th year of advocating for Florida’s $112 billion hospitality sector, which supports two million employees across the state.

As the Chairman, Greg Cook will lead the FRLA’s 2026 Board of Directors Executive Committee. His appointment is a testament to his extensive career in hospitality and his commitment to advancing Florida’s tourism and hospitality industries. With more than 40 years of experience, Cook’s leadership will play a crucial role in shaping policies that will protect, educate and promote the state’s hospitality sector in the coming years.

A Distinguished Career in Hospitality

Greg Cook’s career in hospitality spans over four decades, with a proven track record in luxury hotel operations and leadership roles. Having started in guest-facing positions, Cook quickly rose through the ranks, gaining invaluable experience at some of Florida’s most renowned luxury hotels. Before joining The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island in 2020, he held General Manager positions at Eden Roc Miami and The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale. During his time in these roles, Cook successfully spearheaded award-winning culinary concepts and managed transformative renovation projects.

At The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, Cook has overseen several multimillion-dollar property renovations, including a complete guest room refresh, a revitalized spa and the introduction of a Wellness Center and Nature Center. The resort also added enhanced Ritz Kids programming and recently completed the renovation of its signature fine dining restaurant, Salt. Under Cook’s leadership, the resort has achieved remarkable success, including a 41% increase in revenue and a 44% increase in GOP. In 2022, it was honored as Marriott International’s Luxury Resort of the Year for North America, one of the highest accolades the company offers.
